This site is served via GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) to GitHub's servers. GitHub stores this data in server logs to ensure operation and security. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and efficient operation). To learn how often these pages are read, I use GoatCounter, a counting service run by Martin Tournoij (Ireland) on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany and Finland. When you open a page, a small script served by this site itself transmits the page requested, the referring page, browser type, operating system, screen width, language and the country derived from the IP address to GoatCounter. According to the operator, the IP address and the full browser string are not stored; they are kept in memory for at most eight hours to tell visits apart. No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser. The figures exist only as daily and hourly totals; no individual can be identified from them. The dark-mode switch in the header remembers your choice in your browser's local storage. This is not a cookie, the value never leaves your browser and can be deleted there at any time. Without a choice, the site follows your device setting.
The typeface is served by this site itself; no connection is made to Google Fonts or any other font provider.
If you write to me by e-mail, your details are stored to handle the enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and deleted once it is resolved, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
